7th Sunday after Epiphany, 23 Feb 2025

For many Christians, verses 27 to 38 of Luke’s gospel may be one of the most difficult passages in Scripture. It seems to express an idealism that is totally unrealistic and unattainable for us.

We live, today, in a world where we see, hear and read of war and violence, of the horror of terrorist attacks on the innocent, of increasing political polarisation etc etc.

Where do these words of Jesus words “Love your enemies ...” fit in?
