Parables have a remarkable power because they stay with us.

We may forget a sermon, but we remember a story.

We remember the father welcoming his lost son, the shepherd searching for one lost sheep, and the tiny mustard seed growing into a great tree.

Long after the crowd had gone home, the stories continued working in their minds - and also in ours
